CHAIN LINK FENCE · SPRINGDALE AND NWA

Chain link fence, galvanized or PVC-coated, set in concrete across Northwest Arkansas

Backyard boundaries, ball courts, dog parks and security perimeters, installed by the Springdale crew that has been setting fence posts since 1993.

Chapter 01

The fabric is the cheap part; the footing is the fence

Chain link is the most widely used perimeter fence in Northwest Arkansas for a plain reason: zinc-coated galvanized fabric resists rust and corrosion and costs less than almost anything else that holds a line. What decides whether that line stays straight for decades is what happens below the grass.

Northwest Arkansas ground is clay-heavy, and clay moves. Thomas Fence sets every post in concrete as standard practice unless the contract says otherwise. On commercial and industrial jobs the posts are larger and the footings go deeper, built for high-traffic and high-security environments.

Before any digging, the crew calls 811 so underground utilities get marked, and checks in with you before the crew arrives. That holds on a small backyard job as much as a commercial perimeter.

Gauge, coating and slats: the spec that goes on the estimate

Residential chain link is typically 11 gauge or 11.5 gauge fabric. Commercial and industrial work moves to 9-gauge fabric with larger posts, which is what you want around a warehouse, a school, a distribution center or a government facility. The estimator names the gauge on the paperwork so you know what is going in the ground.

Coating is the second decision. Galvanized is the standard: zinc over steel, and the best value for most properties. PVC-coated adds a black or green layer over that, which blends into landscaping and suits residential yards, schools and any property where the fence has to look finished. Black vinyl-coated runs show up around dog parks and pickleball courts in Fayetteville and Tontitown for exactly that reason.

If the goal is privacy, slats get woven through the fabric. Slatted chain link turns an open fence into a visual barrier around a yard, a pool enclosure or a commercial lot without giving up the strength of the frame, and slats can be retrofitted to chain link already standing. Security perimeters take barbed-wire arms on top, as on the galvanized runs along the Bentonville water tower.

Chapter 03

From the first call to the last post cap

One of the fence experts walks and measures the property and writes a detailed estimate, typically within a day or two. You approve by phone, email or through your sales rep, a contract comes over for signature, and the job goes on the schedule, typically within 1 to 3 weeks of signing. Most residential chain link goes in over 2 to 3 business days. Larger commercial jobs run longer.

Every chain link installation carries a written 1-year workmanship warranty. The commercial-grade fabric, galvanized posts and concrete come from reputable manufacturers, and many of those products carry their own warranties on top. Permits are the property owner's job, though the team will help you work out which ones your city wants.

Financing through Hearth

Residential installs typically use 11 gauge or 11.5 gauge fabric. Commercial and industrial work calls for heavier 9 gauge fabric and larger posts. The estimator recommends the spec that fits how the fence will be used.

Galvanized chain link has a zinc coating that resists rust. It is the standard, cost-effective choice for most jobs. Vinyl-coated chain link adds a PVC layer in black, green or other colors for a finished look and added corrosion resistance. Both are durable; vinyl-coated is the pick where appearance matters.

Yes. Privacy slats are woven through the fabric to block sightlines, and they come in several colors. Slats can go in at installation or be added to an existing chain link fence later.

No. Permits are the customer's responsibility, but the team will answer questions and walk you through it. Bella Vista, Bentonville, Gravette, Gentry, Lincoln, Prairie Grove and Tontitown require a fence permit. Springdale, Rogers, Fayetteville and Siloam Springs do not. Requirements can change, so check with your city before work starts.

No deposit is required for standard chain link installations. A deposit may be required for special-order materials or custom fabrication, and your estimator confirms terms when reviewing the project.
