ESTATE GATES · SPRINGDALE & NORTHWEST ARKANSAS
Custom estate gates, measured and built for Northwest Arkansas properties
Ornamental steel, aluminum, vinyl and chain link, swinging or sliding, built by the crew that can also automate them.
Chapter 01
What makes an estate gate fail
An estate gate is wider, taller and heavier than a standard gate, and it hangs from two posts that carry the whole load. When one of those posts shifts, the gate sags, drags and stops latching. That is why the crew sets every post in concrete and checks that each hinge, latch and piece of hardware is aligned before leaving the site.
The ground matters as much as the metal. A swing gate wants a flat approach and room behind the gate line. On a sloped driveway, a wet spot or a wide opening, a cantilever gate is often the better answer: it slides without touching the ground and needs no V-track. We have hung both styles, from a double swing rail gate in Springdale to a cantilever gate in Lowell.
Width is the other early decision. A single-vehicle driveway is generally fine at 12 feet. Two lanes, RVs or farm equipment usually mean 16 to 20 feet, and we measure at the site visit rather than guess from a phone call.

How we build one, from the opening outward
Every estate gate is measured on site and fabricated for the property. That is how a custom gate ended up on a rural drive in Garfield, and an arched ornamental steel gate between stone columns in Bentonville. Not every opening fits a catalog gate, and the crew designs and builds to match your fence material, your opening width and the way you use the entrance.
Ornamental steel is the most requested material, with custom picket patterns and scrollwork under a powder-coated finish that resists rust. Aluminum is lighter and rust-resistant, which helps when the gate will be automated. Vinyl is clean and low-maintenance, and chain link is practical for agricultural and utility entrances. Metal gates pair naturally with an ornamental steel perimeter fence.
The gate itself typically takes 1 to 2 days to install. Standard installations need no deposit, though custom fabricated gates and special-order materials may. We say so up front in the contract.
Chapter 03
Automation, warranty and what comes after
Thomas Fence is CGAT certified, so when you are ready to automate, the same crew that built the gate installs the operator, the UL 325 safety devices and the access control. Every estate gate we build is designed automation-ready, so adding an operator later does not mean a surprise.
Every estate gate installation carries a written 1-year workmanship warranty. If something is not right with our work, we come back and fix it. Permit rules vary by city, and the property owner pulls the permit, so check with Bentonville, Bella Vista, Tontitown and the other towns that require one. Call (479) 636-4732 and we will walk you through it.

Ornamental steel estate gate, Bentonville
Powder-coated ornamental steel resists rust and keeps its look with minimal maintenance.

Cantilever gate, Lowell
Slides without ground contact, so a sloped drive or poor drainage is not a problem and no track modification is needed to automate it.
